what's your market segment?
i also have a health-communications-related blog on blogger.com - for my health communications class. we've been discussing and reading about target audience segmentation. the marketing research industry is way ahead of the health communications research as far as formative research and market segmentation, of course. here are a couple of links that i've found interesting:

SRIC-BI | VALS Survey - developed by SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute),  "reflects a real-world pattern that explains the relationship between personality traits and consumer behavior" - my type is primarily innovative and secondarily achiever.

PRIZM NE Segmentation System - you can look up different zip codes to see different market segments in particular neighborhoods/areas. very interesting. unfortunately, it looks like there's no data on my zip code, probably because it's university-affiliated. it was interesting to look up different zip codes during class and to see the resulting market profiles.

PRIZM Segments - related to the previous part, the market segments have funny names and interesting descriptions. not sure where i'd fit, but fun to look through.
